Bad Weather Procedures

Here's How We Handle the Weather

Living in North Carolina, we have to manage difficult weather.  As a parent or a coach this is an equal concern.  Here is our existing Bad Weather Cancellation Policy.

When not to play

We value our fields!  They are not ours; we are only tenants.  Please do not practice or play on them when there is standing water or when use of the field will cause significant damage to the turf. Field preservation is priority over practice and completion of games.

How games are cancelled

Unlike other sports, lacrosse is played in bad weather.  Unless we have lightning or the fields are unplayable we will play.  However, during questionable weather, TYLA and WSLax will post the field status on the website.  Field status is updated as needed or by 8:00 a.m. on game day.  Please check the web site before heading to your game.  Coaches are notfied via blast email if games are cancelled.  They should then communicate it to your team promptly.
